Kitten Policies

All Pet & Show Quality kittens will be spayed/neutered prior to going home

All kittens will go home between 14-16 weeks of age

There is a one week grace period to pick up your kitten from the date they are ready to go home
If you plan on picking up your kitten after the grace period ends, a fee may apply

If you are ever unable to care for your cat at any point in his/her life, we will gladly take kitty back- no questions

All kittens/cat from us are never to be resold, rehomed, traded, abandoned, surrendered, or given away. You must give the cat back to us

All kittens/cats from our cattery must…

  • be strictly indoors
    • only allowed outdoors if supervised on a leash & harness, or in a closed contained catio
  • always have access to clean water
  • have reliable access to food, whether that be through scheduled meal times or free-feeding
  • be provided with proper veterinary care, whether that be through traditional or holistic practices
  • always have access to a clean litter box
  • never be declawed
  • not be caged
  • not be allowed to roam freely outdoors

We reserve the right to hold back any kitten(s) that we feel will best benefit our cattery’s breeding program, regardless of reservations or waitlist order

We reserve the right to refuse the sale or placement of any kitten/cat at any point in time, and for any reason, if we feel is in the best interest of the kitten

Transportation & Delivery

We do our best to make bringing your kitten home as smooth as possible. We offer many other options for you to choose from to transport your kitten, many of which we can personally provide if scheduling permits

In-Person Pickup
Of course, you are always welcome to come directly to our home in North Arlington, New Jersey to pick up your kitten. This is the most common option chosen by families, and it allows you to meet us in person.

Halfway Meet-Up
We also offer the option to personally meet halfway at an agreed-upon location. This allows you to avoid the full trip to our cattery while still receiving your kitten directly from us. We have full time schedules, so it is not a guarantee we can offer you this option. However, we will definitely try to accommodate you as best we can and work around our busy schedules
A travel fee will apply, which is calculated based on distance and time. Exact pricing will be provided once we confirm the meeting point. All transportation fees must be paid in full no later than 3 business days before the scheduled meeting

Door-to-Door Delivery
We will handle booking transportation with one of our trusted third-party professional drivers for delivery straight to your home. As a very rough estimate, drivers typically charge around $1.50 per mile, but final pricing depends on distance, route, and driver availability and will be quoted directly by the transporter
If within reasonable driving distance, we may offer you the option to have us personally deliver your kitten to you for a fee

Flights
In some cases, kittens may need to be transported with us on a flight. We do not allow our kittens to travel via airline cargo or with third-party flight nannies. Instead, we will personally accompany your kitten on board and keep them safely in a carrier in the cabin at all times
For this arrangement, you may choose your nearest airport as the meeting location. We will coordinate with you to meet inside the airport after we land for the handoff of your kitten. This ensures that your kitten is never out of our direct care and arrives safely into your arms.
Availability, requirements, and costs will vary, and all arrangements must be discussed and approved in advance

Transportation Payments & Policies

  • Payment Timeline: All transportation fees must be paid in full no later than 3 business days before your kitten’s departure
  • Cancellation & Refunds: If we book your transport through one of our trusted drivers, we will fully adhere to their cancellation policies. (eg., if the driver allows refunds up to 48 hours before travel, you will also receive a full refund if canceled within that window)
    • Most drivers require a non-refundable deposit, in which case that portion will not be refunded to you
  • Transparency: You will always be informed of the exact cancellation and refund policy before confirming your booking.

Deposit & Payment Policies

There is a refundable $500 deposit to join our waitlist, and a second $500 nonrefundable deposit to reserve the kitten of your choice once available to our waitlist. Deposits to reserve a kitten are also non-transferable
**This deposit is ONLY refundable under the condition that we do not produce a kitten matching your preference(s) agreed upon within one year of your deposit. If we offer you a kitten that matches your preference(s) and you choose to decline all options, your deposit remains nonrefundable

There is a nonrefundable and nontransferable $1,000 deposit to reserve a readily available kitten if you are not on our waitlist

All deposits go toward the total price of your kitten

All payments must be completed in full prior to your kitten going home if you are not paying in cash
Please note that many payment services are not expedited, and so it may take 1-3 business days before the funds are sent. Even platforms such as Zelle can take several business days to clear. Because of this, we recommend that you arrange payment several days before your scheduled pick-up or delivery date. If payment has not fully cleared in our account by the time your kitten is ready to go home, your kitten cannot be released until it does.

If you are paying in cash, you may choose to pay the balance upon receiving your kitten. Your kitten cannot leave our home without the entirety of the balance being paid

All transportation fees are separate from the price of your kitten

Acceptable forms of payment are Zelle, Cash, Apple Cash, and Wire Transfer

Pricing

Each Birch & Blue Ragdoll kitten is individually evaluated and priced based on their quality, temperament, and markings. Prices will vary depending on whether the kitten is placed as a pet, show prospect, or with breeding rights.

You get $200 off your second kitten from us, no matter the length of time it has been since you brought home your first kitten.

Referral Rewards
We’re so grateful when happy families recommend our cattery to others. As a way to say thank you, if someone adopts a kitten from us based on your referral, both you and the new family will each receive $100 off—the new family will get $100 off their kitten, and you will receive $100 sent back to you as a thank you, no matter how long ago you adopted from us. It’s our way of showing appreciation for helping connect our kittens with loving homes.

Pet Quality

Pet-quality kittens are sweet, beautiful Ragdolls meant for loving companion homes. They are still your typical Ragdoll, they will just not have the exact “picture perfect” markings or traits desired for show or breeding purposes. These kittens are just as affectionate, healthy, gorgeous, and Ragdoll-like. Exact pricing in this category depends on markings, type, color, and temperament

Price Range: $3,000 – $3,500

Conditions: All Pet Quality kittens are sold on a strict spay/neuter agreement and will be altered prior to going home

Show Quality

Show Quality kittens meet the checklist for breed standards of the Ragdoll and are excellent candidates for families who wish to participate in cat shows. These kittens usually have “picture perfect” markings, type, and temperament, according to TICA’s checklist

Price Range: $3,600 – $4,000

Conditions: Show Quality kittens will have Showing Rights** and will also be altered prior to leaving our cattery

** We make no guarantee of your kitten/cat winning any awards, as results in the show ring are ultimately dependent on judges’ opinions, competition on the day, and factors beyond our control

Breeding Rights

We very rarely offer a kitten with Breeding Rights, and would only do so to approved, established, and ethical catteries. A kitten with Breeding Rights will have exceptional type, health, and temperament, and is one that we believe will contribute positively to the Ragdoll breed.

Price Range: Starts at $5,000

Conditions: Strict contract required. All kittens in this category come with Breeding Rights and Showing Rights. We reserve the right to deny Breeding Rights for any reason

Our price for a kitten with Breeding Rights reflects the huge commitment we make to our kittens, and the exceptional quality of our lines. All of our cats come from beautiful, imported overseas bloodlines. The look, type, and temperament of our Ragdolls are very difficult to find in America, and we have worked very hard to get where we are today with our cats. Purchasing a kitten from us with breeding rights is essentially like acquiring an imported cat

All of our breeding cats come from extensively health tested lines. We put a lot of care and effort into taking care of our cats to provide an amazing quality of life for them, and keeping them healthy. Because our cats are our family and deserve the very best, we make our own homemade cat food every 2 weeks for them. We provide them with a clean and enriching environment, and give them the love and attention daily. Our cats are truly part of our family, and we believe this dedication shows in the health and temperament of every kitten we raise here

Ethical Breeding Only: Any cat purchased from us with Breeding Rights must be bred responsibly and in alignment with TICA’s Voluntary Code of Ethics

Early Spay/Neuter Policy: Purchasing Breeder agrees to follow ESN (early spay/neuter) practices with all Pet Quality and Show Quality kittens they produce and must never allow unaltered kittens to be sold unless it is with Breeding Rights

Health & Care Standards: All kittens bred from our lines must receive proper veterinary care (traditional or holistic), food, water, and safe housing without being caged

Written Sales Agreement: The purchasing Breeder must use a written sales contract with all pet buyers, clearly stating terms, health guarantees, and spay/neuter requirements.

No Backyard Breeding or Mass Breeding: Our cats may not be used in commercial breeding mills or for-profit “kitten factories.” They are to be bred selectively and with care only to other TICA/CFA registered Ragdolls

Right of Refusal: We reserve the right to deny breeding rights at our sole discretion, regardless of purchase intent. Breeding rights are very rarely granted and are only offered to catteries we feel uphold the highest standards.

Registration & Transparency: Any kittens produced must be registered appropriately with TICA and represented honestly in all sales listings
